FRIENDSHIP FORCE TBILISI - GEORGIA
Exchange Scholarship Program Beginning date for this program was January 2008. These scholarships are available with the following guidelines: Scholarships are to be awarded in the amount of two hundred dollars ($200) for a one-week homestay and tri hundred fifty dollars ($350) for a two-week homestay. The scholarships may be used any time within the next two years to participate in a Friendship Force of Tbilisi Georgia Outbound Exchange. Applicants must meet the following guidelines: 1. be a current member of the local Friendship Force of Tbilisi Georgia at the time of application and the year it is used. 2. have not been granted an Exchange scholarship within the past 3 years. 3. not be able to participate in an exchange without financial assistance. 4. complete an application and return it to the Club Treasurer. Each scholarship finalist must be interviewed by the scholarship committee. The Scholarship committee shall consist of the Treasurer, President, and one non-Board member appointed by the President for a 3 year term. All applicants will be notified in writing of the decision of the Scholarship Committee. The Board reserves the right not to make an award in any given year. Applicants will follow the normal Exchange application and screening committee procedures for acceptance as an Ambassador for a particular exchange. At the discretion of the Outbound Exchange Director, the $25 non-refundable application fee may be deferred until the scholarship application has been approved. This would reserve a spot for the Ambassador in the group. To assist the Scholarship Committee in evaluating the candidate's commitment to furthering world peace through their Friendship Force experience, the candidates are asked to answer (in 1500 words or less) the following five questions: 1. Why are you interested in participating in a Friendship Force Exchange? 2. Why are you applying for this scholarship? 3. Why do you think you would be a good representative of the ideals of friendship and goodwill across international boundaries? 4. What benefits do you anticipate for you, your community, and the Friendship Force of Tbilisi Georgia by your participation in an exchange? 5. What have you contributed to our club to further our objectives? How have you participated in club activities
